Need 28 Hours In A Day

How in the world am I going to get everything I need to get done in
the little time I have left to the end of the semester?!? Here's a
list of things I need to get done. Listed mainly for my benefit, really.

1- Guillain-Barre Syndrome case study
2- Study for lab exam
3- Stats project
4- Lab report
5- Study for Stats quiz
6- Study for 2 final exams

I think that's it. Although, I feel like I'm forgetting something.
Items 1, 2, & 3 are main priorities for today into the weekend. 4, 5,
& 6 can happen next week. Phew!

Of course, eating & sleeping will be mixed into the list.

I'm exhausted just listing it all out. Gotta get to class soon.

Thanks for listening/reading.

C2E2 2010: Nerd Convention Weekend

I wanted to post the drawings I scored at the C2E2 at McCormick Place over the weekend of 4/17. This year's theme of drawings (if you can't figure it out on your own) is "Your Mom."

This one was drawn by the artist who does Super Maxi-Pad Girl... who, by the way, is a man. Soo awesome!
These 3 were drawn by the artists Matt, Kris, and Rob (in that order from top to bottom) who draw Cyanide & Happiness

And I just HAD to get a naked Cyanide & Happiness plush doll with a sleazy smile!! And of course, the book that was signed by all three artists. That's definitely a must-have coffee table book, but must be put away while children are guests at the house. =)
Art Baltazar, artist of the Tiny Titans, drew a couple monkeys for me... of course, with "Yer Mom." as the punchline.
The artists from Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal came up with this one. The look on the executioner's face is priceless!
Gene Ha turned me into a superhero (Psylocke), with braces and all. Love it!

Overall, exposing my nerd side over the weekend was a fantastic time. *snort!*

My Personal Awakening

The three week countdown to the end of the semester is coming up quickly. There is still so much to do and so much to study. It's overwhelming and exciting at the same time. With all this going on, I was introduced to a little awakening on Tuesday night.

I laid out all my monthly expenses and income numbers on the table and Geoff threw them into an Excel spreadsheet. A few formulas and minutes later, a big punch in the cooter was launched (not by him, but by the outcome of the calculations). I was truly struggling to make it on part-time pay and school loans. Which I knew it was going to be a struggle, but I just didn't realize how large of a struggle it was going to become. We both decided that there's only one option that will make the struggle almost extinct: I need to go back to work full-time and take classes at night.

So effective May 15th, I'll be a full-time employee at Aspen again. Without hesitation, my boss (the best boss ever), was willing to take me back. He answered my question of, "If I decided to go back to full-time, would you be willing to take me back?" with a "Yes, absolutely" before I was able to finish the question.

I've taken night classes during my first year here and it was quite difficult. So my going back to full-time isn't going to be an easy resolution, but it will definitely be a better one. I took 2 Biology classes at night while working at Aspen full-time and I got an A and a B, so I'm sure I'll survive. It'll be all about me leaving here at 5:00pm sharp, and managing my study time and home responsibilities.

Even though I know the journey will be tough, I still feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. Geoff has been a tremendous help financially and emotionally supportive as well. I am truly blessed to have him in my life.

Thanks for listening/reading. =)

A Little Convo Crack Up

I just had a tiny conversation with Geoff.

Me: I like your shirt.
Him: I like your face.

It happened about 5 minutes ago and I'm STILL laughing about it. ;)

It's the little things that make you giggle that will keep you sane for a long time...

Last night's dinner

Just wanted to test out the email/pic posting from my phone... This
was last night's delicious dinner. It's one of my favorite dishes from
Geoffy. Meatballs and rice. Mmm. Mmm. Mmmmm!

The Revival of My Blog

Helloooooo! Pfft pfft pfft. Is this thing on? [taps on mic]

Wow, this place needs some Spring cleaning. There are way too many cobwebs around.

My girlfriend, Kelley, inspired me to keep up with my blog, so today, April 7, 2010, marks the day the revival begins. It's always nice to have a little outlet to post random thoughts, pics, and links. I can't believe my last post was on August 11, 2008. EPIC FAIL on my part.

Looking back at the blog I put together makes me laugh. I think I should update the background and colors to match me better. Although, the black, white, and red are still my favorite colors, but the huge smiley face on it is a bit much. Don't get me wrong, I still do love to laugh and smile, but it's a little horsey on my blog background, I think.

Since August 2008, a lot has changed. Just to name a few: I've since been with the man of my dreams, Geoff; I've gone back to school part-time; I've gone from full-time to part-time at Aspen Marketing and now work on a new account; I've purchased a new car; and have committed to training for and running the Soldier Field 10-Mile Race on May 30, 2010. With all of this going on, I'm going to try my hardest to blog whenever I can! This time, I won't let almost 2 years pass before my next entry.

I'll end this entry here, though. I'd like to go back to updating the actual look of the blog before I continue to enter any more. I'll also look into using blogger mobile so I can post thoughts as soon as they come to mind from my phone! Yay!

Bah bye for now! =)
